1)
Inflation - drop in the value of money coupled with a rise in prices.
Mercenary - foreign solders who fought for money.
Diocletian - This emperor divided the empire, because it was to big, into two areas- Greek speaking East & Latin speaking West.
Constantinople - Was a city that was renamed "Byzantium".
Attila - Powerful chieftain from the Huns who terrorized both halves of the Roman Empire.

3) What were the main internal causes of the empire's decline?
 Inflation, the decline of the agriculture economy, growing population, loss of patriotism, mercenaries, economy fall, reached limit of expansion, taxes were raise. 

4) How did Diocletian succeed in preserving the empire?
He ruled with an iron fist and fixed previous problems, split the empire in half and ruled the Eastern part, doubled the size of the Roman army.

5) Why did so many Germanic tribes begin to invade the Roman Empire?
They were running away from the Huns, who had moved into their lands and began destroying everything. When they were running away, the Germanic people moved through the Roman provinces of Gaul, Spain and North Africa.
